Volunteers are at the heart of Dalkey Devils. From youth coaching to game‑day support, every volunteer helps create the welcoming, energetic environment that makes our club special. Whether you can give an hour a week or help occasionally, your contribution makes a real difference to our players, families, and community.

Roles

Volunteering at Dalkey Devils is flexible, welcoming, and designed to suit different skills and levels of availability. Below is a clear breakdown of the main roles people take on — each one essential to keeping our club running smoothly.

  • Coach — Whether an experienced coach or new to coaching, you will have the opportunity to apply and build upon your skills and experience.  We currently have openings across both our adult and youth sections for coaches and assistant coaches. 

  • Youth Session Assistant — Support coaches during youth training sessions by helping with drills, encouraging players, organising equipment, and ensuring a safe, positive environment. Perfect for parents, older players, or anyone who enjoys working with young people.

  • Game‑Day Helper — Assist with match‑day setup, court preparation, scorekeeping, welcoming visiting teams, and helping sessions run smoothly. Ideal for volunteers who enjoy the buzz of competition and want to be part of the action.

  • Referee — This is a great way for experienced players to apply their knowledge of the game.  We need players to consider qualifying as referees to support us with home games. 

  • Treasurer — Responsible for overseeing the club’s financial management, ensuring that all income and expenditure are accurately recorded and managed in line with the club’s policies and relevant Irish regulations. 

  • Events & Fundraising Support — Help organise and run club events, fundraisers, awards nights, and community activities. Great for people who enjoy planning, hosting, or bringing people together.

  • Photography & Media — Capture photos or short videos at games and events, support social media content, or help with graphic design. Perfect for creative volunteers who want to showcase the club’s energy and achievements.

  • Admin & Logistics — Assist with communications, scheduling, equipment organisation, or general club operations. Ideal for volunteers who prefer behind‑the‑scenes support.

  • Specialist Skills — Volunteers with expertise in areas like safeguarding, first aid, coaching, marketing, finance, or IT can contribute in targeted ways that strengthen club operations.

  • One‑Off Support — For volunteers who can’t commit regularly but are happy to help occasionally — e.g., event setup, tournament days, or specific projects.

How To Get Involved

Getting involved is simple:

  1. Fill out our short volunteer interest form

  2. We’ll contact you to discuss roles and availability

  3. Complete safeguarding steps (if needed)

  4. Join the team and start supporting sessions or events
